Uit Liefde en Voorzorg

Uit liefde en voorzorg

“Uit Liefde en Voorzorg” (Out of Love and Precautionary) is a building I recently discovered in my hometown Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It was founded in 1794, after the death of two sisters, who decided their money should be used to create a home for a number of older Christian women.  This building dates from 1904, and it’s decorated in beautiful art nouveau style tiling. Nowadays people still live there, but they are not just older women anymore. When I was there, I walked around in the lovely garden and simply enjoyed the silence and the view.

    1. Hi Jana! Good to meet you too! I’m also new – I started in June with a class I took, but am now completely obsessed. This blog is kind of an excuse to do it more. 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!
